Native Instruments announced this week that they’re discontinuing the Kore product line, focusing those energies on the host-plus-sampling groovebox Maschine.

I would say "oops, I missed that" but it just went up yesterday so I don't feel that bad...lol, btw, nice write, I really like the equipment reviews a lot. I've never messed around with Kore but it sounds like it would be kinda dope for those who like effects.

Ya I never bothered with Kore either, but it's a smart move though considering Maschine is the truth and they want to put all their effort into that.

It makes since though considering Kore is like the young maschine, right?

kore is nothing like maschine, imo. I have both, and Kore is a plug in host, Maschine is a sequencer/sampler than can host too.

so what was it exactly that kore did? how did it intergrate into creation workflow....that product always confused me.

Kore was good for organizing your presets from all of your different plug ins into one browser, and for using diff plugs together for sound creation. That's essentially what I used it for, at least.

Kore is NICE...it's guaranteed to be used on every track I make. Urban Arsenal and Essential bass are definitely two of my goto sound banks when using it. I guess the average producer couldn't wrap their heads around it...I myself think it's one of the better VST's in the game. I use the software version of it. I never needed the hardware controller. I hope they're only talking about discontinuing the controller because the software is a must have in my opionion. It's sound banks are CRAZY! Kore, Gladiator, and Kontakt 4 are always apart of the start up set.

Kore is basically a soft synth. I use the free version Kore player, I've added essential bass and retro machines to it.

I've always been a big fan of Kore.It was a simple way to do sound creation and combining VSts. I'm just assuming they are going to put something similar in maschine now. The bonus was since i actually bought it they gave me vouchers for 3 kore soundpack. Free sounds = dope

Maschine will not become what Kore was, they are just focusing on it as their vst host now.

It will not have the built in engines (part of the reason kore development was stopped) like Kore.

The plus side is that Kore still works, and is great for layering/sound design :)

I am one of the very few that did not get to use Kore....I did consider it....but never went that route....

I'm actually looking @ Komplete 8 Ultimate......even comes in an external HD.... Great stuff, man... great stuff..... Hopefully I can move some music to get this....I really want to have all that integration with Maschine.....

I love Maschine so much.....So when people say Maschine isn't that serious......I treat it as if you said my child was ugly to my face...lmao.... It's literally paid for my Mac, already... It's awesome.
