Akai Mpd32, detects but still does not work?

in Reason 4.0.1 ,it detects but still does not work, there is no pulse when I press the pads
very strange

Have you made sure all device drivers and MIDI interface drivers are correct?

ok - after 3 weeks struggling with a similar situation, I think I can help you with this one. It depends what you are trying to do. Do you want to use the MPD just to control sounds in Reason and use Reason as the sequencer (i.e record to it)?

i had this problem,took it to my boiz house on his imac and he chose Other Midi Keyboard and the pads started to work but all the knobs and faders didnt,spoke to akai for 2 days and not even they could help so got refund and WILL NEVER buy an akai product again
