Akai MPD 16 Utility Software (Help Please!!)..

I just bought an Akai MPD 16. When trying to install the Utility software I keep getting a pop up that tells me it can not be installed. I have turned off my Virus Software (which told me the setup.exe has a Trojan Horse in it). The thing is that no matter what I do here I can not use my MPD 16 the right way without this software. I just tried to go to the Akai webite and they have no downloads for this application. Has anyone else had this happen? If so what did you do about it? By the way I am running Windows XP pro..

That's weird. I got mine working and I'm running the same platform as you. Did you follow the installation set up step by step?

Yeah. I just tried something new here. What I did was extract the files from the disk to a folder I setup on my computer (rather then let the computer extract them into it's own folder). When I tried to install it that way it did the same thing and tole me that it is Infected with a Trojan Horse virus. DAMN! Fuck AKAI!!!! This really blows, lol.. I just bought this joint a couple hours ago and I can't even run it!!!

Just the Utility setup. The one that allows you to assign sounds to the pads..

i didnt have any problems with mine ...i got it 2 days ago and installed it same time and everything works......did u run the setup for windows or mac?
