Acapellas?

Where do you guys get acapellas for remixes?

depends on what your using.. If you have a turntable then wanna go out on the net and find reputible places that sell 12" acapellas. hiphopsite has a nice selection. If you try downloading acapellas and then copy and paste-mixing it onto a beat then have fun. but the way to go is a turntable because you can create chorus' and other shit like manipulating words with the fader.

ebay is also interesting to check out on the record tip

dont download acapellas off the net, 99% of them have either the original beat still playin in the background, or they fuck up halfway thru which messes up the whole track.

HipHop 12'' singles will normally have the single, sometimes a radio edit or remix, then both the instrumental and acapella on it too. Just go buy a few singles you like...also, the fact that they have the instrumental on there too is pretty useful as you can hear even more clearly what kind of sound the producer used to work with the vocals - you can take this into account or try to completely do your own thing, either way I think it'd be useful.

ebay is crazy good for finding all kinds of things. but 12' is the best unless the artist come out with an acapella cd like Jay Z
