Have a problem where Im running several vocal stacks to a bus, I have the effects and everything I want BUT when the sound first comes on ie: the verse starts or a section of the hook starts, the very first words is loud as a mofo! Then from there on it works perfectly at the correct levels and everything .
Its just that when any of it first starts the level is unacceptable.
Do I need to post an example or do you guys have an answer for this ?

I saw a setting called delay compensation , I figured it was just for using delay fx, hell I don’t know, will turning that on help?

Thanks.

Delay compensation is to counteract latency plugins introduce, pro tools has very specific latency problems in regard to busses, so yea turn that on. Is the first part of the vocal actually recorded hot or is it the routing that is causing the issue? And third pro tools 10 has a new feature called clip gain that is perfect for these sorts of problems.

Ill turn the delay comp thing on, Im not buying 10 yet .. lol, the track is not recorded hot, I have the vocal rider on and it seems like the bus is initially surprised that its required nd then goes "OOPS oh yeah let me get that on!" and then its fine.
I was about to wonder if I just needed some lead in with it, I will try turning on the delay thing first though.
Its for a paying customer and I want this to go good though!

Thanks for the replies!
