5th Pillar?

5th element?

not sure if this has been discussed before in the forum, but this is something i've been wondering about: everyone knows the 4 elements of hip-hop. does anyone else think that production should be recognized as a fifth element (yeah, i know it's biased asking this at a production forum, but i'd still like to get cats opinions)?

i personally think that production has become just as important to hip-hop as emceeing, djing, graf and breaking. consider all the instrumental hip-hop artists who have come up, and how much (at least to me) a beat can make or break a track.
