Hey,

How about this:

$50 for a not so good track
$200 for a good track

It doesn't matter what gear you use, as long as the track is good.

i dig what yall saying, but let's be real
certain keyboards deliver a certain
level of quality in its sound.

like you got a better chance making a dope
beat on a triton because syntaur (mpcsounds.com)
makes the factory sounds included so automatically
you have something to freak.

(and let's pretend or assume someone just starting
out making beatz and selling them so they don't have a library of sounds to use, only the keyboard factory sounds)

so in this case the dude with a low budget board
not gone have a real bangin beat. be realistic

the dude with the more expensive board will murc
the cat with the less expensive board.

Note: In this example, both beat makers have the same talent potential
the equipment is the defining factor of the price of the beatz

Hey,

A good producer will make a KILLER beat using a cell phone and a rubber band, if he knows what he's doing. What you've laid out before us is an example where you have mediocre producers relying on the quality of their gear instead of the quality of their knowledge. A good producer will use whatever tools he has before him to make a track, be it a full blown studio or a stick of chewing gum.

Sure, a 3 year old with a Triton can make a better 'sounding' beat than someone with experience using a PSR because the difference in quality is SO big...

...but I'll bet you the good producer will sample the sounds off the PSR into something like a computer, spice them up with effects and eq, edit them, etc., and deliver a product that will make most Triton newbies look a bunch of rich kids.

In the case where both producers are of equal calibre, the PSR guy will have to work a little harder to get the results he wants because his keyboard won't have as many options as the Triton, but he'll get the job done. Just listen to some of the beats here at Illmuzik, they sound pretty damn good and some of the users don't even have real hardware.

But what if the client is looking for a 'low fi' sound that would be hard to replicate on a Triton? Then the PSR guy will be laughing his ass off at the Triton guy, collect $500, and take the Triton guy's girlfriend out to dinner.

Take care,

Nick

If you have two keyboards and one is a peice of shit or not as good as the other one get rid of it and find somthing else to do with the money...Why would you even use 2 and sell shit at different prices people that's buying them don't know the difference..A good beat is a good beat no matter what it's made on..This has to be the stupidest thing I've ever read on illmuzik

I am going tell right off top, I can respect a persons opinion
but the insults I ain't having chump.

I am a grown azz man at the other end not no little fucking teen ager you playing with patna.

3. I can see a hot beat being made on a low end board, after all Swizz Beatz made some real hot shit on a cheap azz casio.

point made customers don't care what equipment was used, just the end results. sell ah hot track as a hot track.
