MPC 2000XL Effects Board

Another damn MPC question.......
Aiiiight yall...... When I try to hookup my Roland XP-60 to my MPC 2000xl, I'm running into a problem. I can hit the keys on the Roland and hear the sounds I have loaded up on the MPC, but I cannot figure out how to be able to play the sounds on the Roland and record live on the MPC.
