    As soon as Im back to work and have some money Im getting an Alesis VI61. I love the weighted keys and the pads feel really nice, it makes my M-Audio Oxygen61 seem very cheap. For somebody of your calibre, unless portability is a necessity Id go for at least 49 keys.

    id rather save another 150 and spend that on actual monitors. Headphones dont give a true stereo representation as you cannot hear in the left whats coming out the right and vice versa. Id have a pair of DT 770's, 880's or 990's just for a/b'ing a mix in headphones to see how it translates.
