Sure guys, no prob. Just remember to keep your files as organized and flexible as possible. Also, this was advice if your heading to a "Mixing Engineer" to dial yer shit in if thats your initial goal. But if your feeling confident in yer mix then the scheme changes a little bit cuz yer obviously... -
Tracking out a beat
Usually this is how it works: You seperate every aspect of the beat possible ie.; Drums, Instruments, Etc.... Often if im tracking out a beat, I will track out every sound practically, ie.; Just the Kick, just the Snare, etc, every sound gets exported as its own track without anything else... -

It was provided on the driver disc. I just installed from there. If you cant find the disc however, id go to m-audios page and download from there, they will have all the appropriate files and software u need. -

I believe that youl need "ACTIVE" monitors though, not passives unless u have a power source to amplify the monitors? The actives already have a amp in them, that way u can just plug to yer soundcard without the hassle. Oh and good choice with the soundcard, i have a 1820 and its fucking... -

Also, gating is a fun effect too. It adds that "tight" pocket feeling to the rhythm sometimes which is cool. -

Go to Download.com and do a search for "CDEX"....that prgms been free for mad long and is still a solid app for doin basic conversions. -

Reverb On Drums
Also, if your reverb has a EQ to designate what frequencies get reverb and what doesnt I would dip out the low end. Youl get a much more organic sound from your effect. Plus, since every song is different - there really isnt a "set" way to have yer FX parameters always dialed to, but in general... -

Well said. Thats basically my beef too. Cuz i can hear promise in his vocals, but then its like he just takes a shit on creativity and gives up cuz its just as easy to get paid on mtv by saying 5 words over and over in 8 bars.- Shonsteez

Yeah, I dont typically buy mixtapes usually....Instead i tend to buy the actual artists cd's, not a mixtape with one or two songs, unless of course its the only resource to hear that artists music cuz they dont have a cd yet. And yes i know of camron and unfortunatly of dipset.....- Shonsteez

Nah, i think its tru personally.....What it does is amplify yer senses so when yer vibin to a beat or makin a melody it makes u not care about anything else so u end up jus focusing on the music, this is at least from personal experience.
