    Man the only way to avoid dissapointment by finding out that a hit wasn't original but a jacked sample is 1 get some musical grounding in chords etc.....and start making your own melodies and copyright them......if you have any old school aunts or uncles say from the 70's or eighties I bet you...

    sync You really don't need to use the MTC just use midi....output from your midi card to input of mpc, set up protools to use the soft thru and I am not sure about the other settings but I use the countin with conductor icon on the transport, set the mpc to use midi....I do this all of the time...

    The key is yes use the synths, but if you have a sampler resample the synth, you can play it but it sounds better to just sample chords and riffs and then filter and trigger from the mpc or another sampler....
