So I decided to have a crack at a game/movie soundtrack piece

"Been trawling through youtube looking at the artists in this world, many make me feel so small and make me realise how much I have to learn." That is the beauty of music really, its a lifetime of enjoyment. And anytime I get cocky and start to think I am a good bass player, I meet someone that...

    What's up with "Beat Tape"?

That's kinda the point, is that its very exclusive to people who really want to hear it. I think cassettes will come back a little, nothing like vinyl has though.

    What's up with "Beat Tape"?

Im working on a beat tape right now. It will be made 100% on an MPC2000xl. Mixed to tape with all outboard gear, and only available on cassette. Im not kidding. If its not on cassete it should not be a "beat tape" that's weird.

Don't Sleep on GarageBand (or its Sampler) In iOS

Garage band is fantastic! I use it on my iPad all the time. These days I take my stems and only mix in logic. Both programs are pretty remarkable.

Pretty cool picture someone in the crowd got at our last show.

We have been trying to up our live production game and lights make a huge difference. We worked with the...

    Souncloud with samples

I have gotten stuff pulled from soundcloud and I don't have all that many followers. I also have stuff up now that is not cleared and they havent noticed. I would just flip that sample good and see how it goes.

What If Hip Hop Began Without Sampling, But With Live Instrumentation?

The roots is a good example of not sampling much at all. My music is also mostly live instruments. Its a great skill to have for sure.

What Happened To Being A Specialist?

I strongly think that Artists should not do everything themselves. I mean if you have no budget, then do everything yourself and get your music out. But to actually do this for real you need a team of people that I better then you at certain things. For example I will ALWAYS use a top end...

Always, I mean ALWAYS WITHOUT FAIL. Backup your work.

oh shit, thats crazy. How much is it worth it if you lose everything though? How much data total do you have? Maybe the free version of dropbox would be enough?

Always, I mean ALWAYS WITHOUT FAIL. Backup your work.

Dude if you cant afford a hard drive get backblaze like today. Its $5 a month and will backup everything. Well worth it! At some point your hard drive will fail. Maybe not this computer or the next but it happens to everyone. Get a good backup going.
