Why is EVERY Non-rap Song about Sex??

Have you ever listened to talking heads, Nirvana, the white stripes? Almost none of their songs are about sex. In fact I find hip hop music to be the worst offender here. It’s about sex more often then not.

    NEW - Maschine + standalone

hahah, I just don't see what a hardware sequencer brings to the table over like Live or Reason. Now I have a blast with my analog synths, but I always just sample them, and bring them into software for more mangling. Idk I thought I would use the MPC one to control my modular but I just don't...

    NEW - Maschine + standalone

Wow how did I miss this? Pretty cool. Although I am considering going all software again and ditching my MPC one and Digitakt.

    Questions about marketing multiple channels

Man I tried that for years and went down that road. It can work but it’s a ton of well... work, tunnel vision on the fewest channels and 100% effort to fan building seemed to be the most effective for me. I really did build it one fan at a time and it took years. Ymmv of course but I would argue...

Anybody got any good alternatives to Soundcloud?

They have been doing like no fee Fridays where they dont take a cut of the revenue so the artists get 100% of the money, to help the artist stay afloat during this time. Its pretty cool. No one I know is touring so we all are taking pay cuts this year because of no live performances therefore...

Anybody got any good alternatives to Soundcloud?

Well Bandcamp has a commerce system built in, as well as places for physical merch. I am working on a vinyl pressing for the next Drunk Pedestrians record so I will for sure be able to sell it at Bandcamp. (although COVID is making life promo difficult) Of course you need your marketing list...

Band camp is the best if you want to make any money at all selling the record.

    Problem with hardware compressor

Yea software can easily do that. But I’m glad you got it working!

    Problem with hardware compressor

Yes exactly thats called "printing" an effect. You essentially need to route the compressor output to the audio interface input and record the effect back in. But honestly even the free plugins BLOW away the hardware you are using so I would just not worry about it until you are ready to drop...

    Problem with hardware compressor

So I see what you mean about asio4all ok does it make sense that you need to route the compressor output to a new track in live and record the compressor?
  12. thedreampolice

    Problem with hardware compressor

Don’t use asio4all in general. Especially since your mixer has an audio driver. Is there anyway you can post a picture of how it’s all hooked up?

    Problem with hardware compressor

Yea you have to record the output of the compressor back in to a new audio track and record it. Or “print” the effect. Does that make sense?

    Problem with hardware compressor

You will basically have to record the mix back in. “Print” the effect so to speak, but man no offense but that is such a low end hardware compressor that a plugin would probably be a better choice anyway. I don’t think it would be worth the trouble unless it was a nicer one.

    Studio One 5

I have used it a little, it's pretty slick. The goal of it is to recreate the sound of their hardware mixes on purpose so it is NOT neutral at all but it does sound good. For the most part I can do all that with plugins in Logic or Reason though. Especially if you have the Slate stuff.

    Studio One 5

People are wrong all DAW’s sound the same other than Harrison mix bus. Try the null test for yourself and you will see.
