    i'd say Rane's Serato Live. I have a lot of DJ friends and they all say it is the only way to go when scratching mp3's and such. Can't be beat in many areas. Look into it, your friend wont be disappointed.

    the mophat sounds are hella nice but if you have to track them yourself you may lose a lot of the quality. I had the mp-7 but no way of compressing the signal when tracking it and the sounds were just incredibly weak.
