Its prob just me, but it seems like were debating about 2 different things now? Cuz i totally agree with you 100% on knowing your DAW first. I couldn't agree more to be honest. So at this point im not quite sure what were disagreeing on!?...lol. But yeah, good info God. -

No dude I feel you, and I myself fit into that category of people that cant afford that top-level gear that I believe were both speaking of here hopefully, however I do think your even shooting higher then I was in regards to really top level stuff?!...lol....I was mearly trying to acknowledge... -

Word, when I think of Transparency in the context of a recorded signal, I just think of hopefully hearing the same thing back on tape/daw as I would hear it in real life. -

Yeah but were talking about 2 different things here - 1. Optimal Gear to help produce the best possible source files to work with, 2. The use of EQ on those files (which is an editing choice mind you and not required at all times) to help remedy what your gear/technique didn't faithfully produce... -
Mixing "to compression" and the insanity thereof...
I just hope the loudness war will soon cease at least in my lifetime. It would be nice to return back to actually having music thats not audibly fatiguing to listen to after a while. -

Some good points. I say get it right as much as possible tho at the source, ie. your preamp, mic - and then utilize your EQ, etc. as needed. If you start with good source files, theres typically less clean up to do. -

If were still talking about filtering which is simply EQ basically thats one thing, applying reverb, modulation effects, etc. are really considered FX Processing or just Processing. Just about any DAW or beatmaking software offers basic LP, BP, HP filters along with Parametric EQs.....I would... -

Word, me-neither but what makes this thing so dope is how well initgrates into your DAW workflow if your a mix-in-the-box kinda person as I myself am at the moment....I really prefer the tactile ability to work with accurate faders, etc, to mix my projects....I basically want to be able to mix... -
