    Lets talk Linux

It sounds REALLY good. Its the only DAW that actually has a sound. Ardour on its own doesn't. But yea I have a love/hate for linux. Been playing with it since the 90's but I always run in to some show stopping issue. At least on the desktop.

DOS was an IBM product kinda and a full on Microsoft product eventually, Unix command line has been Unix command line since like the 60’s. They are two totally different operating systems. Also did you see my Ardour comment?

    Lets talk Linux

Sorry what does DOS have to do with Linux? That’s a Microsoft thing. Do you maybe mean command line? You really never have to touch command line to use Linux anymore if you don’t want to. @2GooD Productions I have tracked a whole record in Ardour. Check out Harrison mix bus for a better...

Why do people buy Apple products?

The Mac, study after study after study has shown the total cost of ownership of a Mac to be significantly cheaper. I posted a few studies already. On top of that you are talking about one experience of one person. That’s called anecdotal evidence. I’m talking about in depth studies that have...

Why do people buy Apple products?

Uhh I have done that many times over the years now. Like seriously? It’s pretty normal to see 10+ year old Mac’s in the wild dude. Linux runs great on Apple hardware. Soooo??

Why do people buy Apple products?

Yup it hasn’t been for probably a decade. You can use any audio interface you want with it now. Also, I agree Studio One is the most forward thinking traditional DAWs on the market. It’s built by a bunch of the old cubase team. Cubase has some obscure features that no other DAWS do that make it...

Why do people buy Apple products?

@konceptG Then prove it right now. Go configure a Dell and match it spec for spec with a mac. I bet they are within 10% in price. I literally do this for my job weekly. So have at it man. I’m a 20 year IT get myself. Nice to meet you! Check out this IBM study that was massive and totally...

Why do people buy Apple products?

Pro tools isn’t hardware locked any longer. I do love it for post and recording. Ableton is a pretty remarkable software for sure, I love it for writing but I hate it for tracking and mixing.

Why do people buy Apple products?

That seems like a personal preference thing to me. Nothing wrong with that. But it is the second most used DAW in professional studios, so it has decent traction for sure. Pro tools still dominates the market by a wide margin though. At the end of the day they can all get the job done, it just...

Why do people buy Apple products?

Yea Ableton and Live are so different. Like I would never track a band in Live, but gosh mangling samples in Live is a blast. Kinda different mindsets.

Why do people buy Apple products?

@2GooD Productions I think Logic is the #2 most used DAW in the professional sense at least and Pro Tools is #1 so it certainly is good to learn. You get a LOT of great effects with Logic both soft synths and mixing plugins. For $200 its the best bang for the buck of any DAW hands down. That...

Why do people buy Apple products?

To be honest im probably a VMware fan boy if anything lmao. also Apple fan boys are not critical of Apple at all, and I have a pretty long list of grievances against Apple. Now I think its net positive overall for Apple, but they certainly don't get everything right.

Why do people buy Apple products?

oh no, you misunderstood. I was simply saying that I don't ONLY use Apple products at all. I am an Apple fan, but I don't think fanboy is quite right as I use every tech product I can. That being said I AM an expert on this particular topic but certainly don't take my word for it. Feel free to...

I also have multiple Windows servers and Windows laptops as well as Linux laptops etc at my house. Hell I have a VMware server at my house. I use them all. This is how I make a living.
