no doubt man, i just wanna tell you i've been through the same thing before. I couldnt understand why my drums didnt sound sick, they werent defined and always buried. I'll save you the trial and error by saying this. Make your drums as you would normally, but make the sample fit the grove of...

lilhatedon This was cool, the drums were nice I liked em. The sample arrangement was cool too, i think it could use some grit piled high on those drums an then some filtering and compression on the sample to really get a phat grimey vibe on. It sounded cool, but the hella clean hihat didnt go...

Any videos on EQing? or on making an entire beat from scratch (using a sample)?

"The Mixing Engineers Handbook" by Bobby Owsinksi. This was the book I personally found the most helpful. has a great section on EQ as well as all of the other aspects of engineering. This has really helped me in getting clearer mixes, great read.

dahkter Hey man, welcome to the flippage spot, hope to see you as a regular on here. I'm feelin what you did with it, it was spaced out nicely. The drums were sick too, it all fit. Very laid back. That breakdown seemed a tad long, kinda got lost in it, but the 2nd part was cool too once...

Shopping For New Cables - Unbalanced or Balanced?

not sure about the balanced giving proper stereo thing, but a balanced cable does block more noise. You don't have to worry about getting braided or spiral sheilded cables since you shouldnt be moving the cables themselves that much. Just keep in mind that a balanced cable with regular foil...

    Mixing the Master Channel

swivel, i like how you put that. Just within the past month i've come to terms with not necissarily having a "loud mix" but a "solid mix" in terms of sound quality and the exact sound i want. I have to say there was a huge difference in quality when I tracked it out an then did more extensive...

Any videos on EQing? or on making an entire beat from scratch (using a sample)?

videos may help you a bit, but your going to learn the most significant things by reading and researching. Reading online, actually buying books and reading manuals will be all you ever need. When you have more complex questions besides the obvious ones that could easily be answered, thats...

    question about a possible opportunity

I agree with cold truth. The whole thing doesnt seem sound. Normally when someone likes your beats, they buy the one they fucking liked. Not some imaginary "your stuff is good but i'll give you a month to prove to ME (random stranger man) that you have what it takes to impress him. Fuck...

    Cats holdin' heat,,,,Discuss...

I'd rather throw down then use a piece. Thing is, what can you do if you're thinkin you can handle it with fists.. but dude cant fight, BUT has a piece. He's not going to value your life for the respect he'd lose gettin his ass beat. Part of the problem is people putting too much value to...

What does Hip Hop mean to you

Hip hop to me is self expression and identity. Without it, i couldnt see myself just bein a regular dude doin regular ass things. I dunno, I take things personally when people judge, stereotype or berate hip hop so I always stand up for it when people dont come correct about something.

what up rel, thanks for the review man. Hope all is well with the hospital stuff. This is cool, it takes a moment for the string melody to catch, but the bass solidifies it. This has a cool direction, it works. The change up is nice too. I like the breakdown when its just the bass goin...
