    Street Drummer (ebaum)

That guy has some serious talent - anyone notice how he was creating a bass drum sound?-he was lifting the bucket up with his feet...What a legend.

    who paints the illest picture

I gotta agree actually...I was just listening to Deep Puddle Dynamics - June26, 1998. Really down to earth stuff but sort of surreal.

    who paints the illest picture

Cunninlynguists, Aesop, MF Doom..[I'm not saying I can relate to them, just that they conjure up some memorable and inventive imagery]

quotes from mike tyson. hilarious read.

It's already been done, man...the into to Jedi Mind Tricks - Rise Of The Machines: ".....my style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah!" [there is more before that too...]

The pro-53...ots got some real nice presets. I haven't really incorporated it any of my work apart from like 2 tracks, but it really is nice.

Why was so many people bitchin!

I actually brought that was I was in NY...It wasn't a bad read, and I have to say I genuinely enjoyed reading the eminem interview, despite not really liking him, he had some interesting [like how he started working with Dre]...I was a little disappointed by the Madlib inteview though - it was...

new kanye west track - diamonda are forever

Yeah I think to some extent the majority of producers use a combination of both. In mainstream hiphop at least, there are few that are completely and utterly sample based and there are a load who use both sampling and composition to produce tracks.

    Flstudio Roll Call

Yeah that was worded badly...what I meant was I'll make a loop and then chop that up [cool edit, like 'normal people'] and also for arranging samples I've already chopped [or just with the step sequencer for drums I've ripped off vinyl/tape]

There seems to be so few drum patterns

I have to agree with pretty much every thing Cold Truth has already said. I myself am a drummer, and I never run out of ideas when making [hiphop] drum patterns - for example I like to use ride cymbals quite a lot too as you can add a more jazzy/laid feel to a track as the hits have much...

    Flstudio Roll Call

I use FL too, but not for mixing and arranging...I use FL literally for making loops and then chopping them, or chopping up samples.

    Cypress Hill...

Temples Of Boom has such a gritty, dark feel...and it was apparently their 'worst' album. I absolutely love it though. They way Muggs brings all those far eastern influnces too. Pure Dope....Damn so was IV. I'm really not feeling Stoned Raiders, or the latest album Till Death Do Us Part. That...

What is the little things that impresses you the least?

A great list, but... What about when you go for a shit and its kinda cuts off half way, so you spend half an hour and a whole toilet roll wiping your arse. Nasty.

    Underrated Producers

There are loads man.... RJD2, Jel, Shadow, Blockhead....even producers from a while back, like production group The Ummah, don't get the respect they deserve. The Ummah are/were the nuts....I rarely hear of people crediting them for their original [at the time] and creative use of jazz samples.
