    dumb FL Sampler question

up to now, I've been pretty content with the way the FL sampler works, until I was fuckin with a beat in the parking lot this morning. How do you set the sampler to re-trigger instead of just one-shot? I don't have my FL Bible with me, and I wanna get this beat laid out on my lunch hour so I can...

    Question for MPD16 owners/users

How's the response on these things? I ask 'cause I just bought one from GC on my lunch hour and while I was there a couple of cats came it to compare The pad response between the mpc2000 and 1000 (they brought in their own 2000). One of the guys complained about the pad response on the MPD16...

    ProTools M Powered

But that's only possible with a minimum of an HD1 setup and 2 96 i/o's. With Cubase/Sonar, you need the app and a single MOTU 24i/o or any of a number of other interfaces. And doing overdubs and whatnot is not much better in PT. I can't speak on Rewire suport in PTLE 7 'cause I have 6.8 and...

    nintendo ds

Hrmph... I was wondering when something like that would show up for the GBA or DS. Back inna day, I fucked around with NanoLoop on the original Gameboy. Really limited, but made some interesting music.

    Digi 001 and pro-tools 6.9

Yup. Digi stopped supporting the 001 with PTLE 6.4. Really, there's no good reason for it other than to force you to upgrade your hardware. At least you can still get 6.4 from Digi, my Audiomedia III card was dropped with 6.1 and they no longer have it available.

    ProTools M Powered

For anything having to do with Rewire, virtual synths and fx, Cubase, then Sonar are lightyears away from ProTools. For multitrack audio, all three are about the same, to be honest. For audio/video sync, ProTools if better. As an all around package, Cubase and Sonar, hands down.

    ProTools M Powered

might as well get ProTools. You'll be compatible with the rest of the industry. Cubase and Sonar are superior to it, but when you sell a beat to a major label artists, they're gonna ask you for the ProTools session.

    protools rewire help needed

finally copped a copy of PT MP 6.8 offa ebay to go with my Audiophile192 card. Doesn't have any documentation to go with it (was there even a book with this???) other than the pdf files. Can't figure out how to get ReWire working for crap (score one for Cubase). It's pretty straight forward in...

General questions about getting ''Dual flat screen''

If you're not much of a gamer and have an AGP slot on your board, find an old Matrox G450 Dual Head card. It has the best display quality I've seen. They should be pretty cheap on Ebay, but they're VGA out only.

#1 reason to get cool with someone at GC..

I called up GC today to see if they had an Audiophile 192 in stock. The cat that answered wasn't my usual salesman. He told me they had one and I had him hold it for me. I rolled out to GC to cop the card and, lo and behold, my usual rep was there. I told him what I was looking for and he...

Why I am i always using the minor keys?

just as a side note - some of Stevie Wonder's older music was played largely on minor keys.

Equipment used for making underground hip hop beats

I think FL is gonna make it's presence known in the coming year. Mark my words y'all.

Apples, And oranges.. But why Reason over FL?

Yet Reason STILL can't use VST's, which FL can to expand it's arsenal of sound sources far beyond that of Reason.

    My New Killer Trio

FL Studio 6, Cubase SX2, SoundForge 8. I have a ton of VST's for FL Studio and Cubase and a collection of nice DX plugs for SoundForge also. Eventually, I'm moving to ProTools for my hip hop production, but I'll still use Cubase for my Techno, Electro, and Ghettotech music.

    Waves Diamond Bundle...nahh.

I guess what I'm getting at is that it needs to leave the crib sounding as good as possible. Done properly, there's very little an engineer has to do with it except tweak a knob here or there.

    swing+drums

I started applying that way of thought from the way I make my dance compositions in FL Studio. That's how I assemble techno and electro tracks, but never did hip hop like that even though I used to do something similar with hip hop waaaaay back inna day.
