    The Sky Is Crying

Sounds good to me and well produced. I like the drum fills a lot. I would have liked to hear the main guitar be a little louder in the mix as I feel like it gets overshadowed by the bass, but that's probably just personal preference. Good stuff.

    Beat This! Competition - November 15-16, 2023

I've only been able to quickly listen on my phone so far, going to actually listen and vote later, but sounds like a lot of cool beats. Although there as less submissions, I like how everyone had to work with the same constraints (sample, deadline).

Industrial Hip Hop - Death Grips, Ho99o9, Dalek, Allflaws

I'll have to check out some of these artists. Sounds up my alley. I've had some folks say my stuff sounds industrial because I like using a lot of distortion and non traditional samples, though I've called it more alternative. But I love a lot of these niche sub genres of hip hop.

Latest Release FL Studio 21.2 is FIRE

FL has some of the MPC quantize presets built into the piano roll (how accurate they are, IDK).

    Super Mario - J Cole

And oh, that's dope re: looking for 8 bit samples. If you're interested, made me think that that could be a dope project to collabo on, putting together a beat tape using 8 bit samples to highlight our work and tap into each others networks to help with branding. Lmk man.

    Super Mario - J Cole

In my day job, I've referred to Koji Kondo often to highlight the power of creative constraints. He's probably the most listened to composer of all time and his masterpiece (Super Mario Bros Theme) was made with just a handful of mono 8-bit sounds and 1 that could only produce white noise :)...

    Super Mario - J Cole

Love stuff like this. If you get someone to flow on this, I can imagine them working around the known Super Mario bits, and then highlighting how it is Mario to make it cool/funny too. Because I don't think many would put it together that it's the Mario Bros theme until ~0:38 (if you removed the...

    No snare, no melody.

Thanks for listening guys! I'll have to try making a few others like this.

Latest Release FL Studio 21.2 is FIRE

Been using FL since Fruity Loops baby. That little orange tomato thing and the sound FX that plays when opening the DAW. Ah. The hardest part is trying to tune out the noises I hear Fade making upstairs. I just got an Akai Fire couple days ago and it's pretty dope. It lets you control most of...

    Sticky Beat This! Theme Suggestions

Some ideas: -some top 50 all-time song but you have to flip a cover version of it -drums only -no drums -pop/r&b beat battle -western vibe -gangsta rap of the future

    Beat This! Competition - November 15-16, 2023

Definitely not the easiest sample to flip. But also why it should be pretty interesting.

    Beat This! Competition - November 15-16, 2023

Cooked something up last night and into today. Going to finish it up this evening when kids are sleeping. Excited for this one, I think this is the first sample battle since I've been active on here. Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Snoop and Dre working on new album.

Well, that was the exact problem. It was a good album. But we've evolved to the point where we no longer have attention spans capable of sitting down and actually listening to an album front to back haha.

Snoop and Dre working on new album.

Interesting. Just curious how you heard about that, wondering if there are others Dre didn't want to release. It makes me wonder if he feels like he needs to "prove" himself or something. But Compton ended up being way overproduced and hard to listen to because of that (IMO anyways).

Snoop and Dre working on new album.

Maybe we'll get a release in 50 years, like they just did with the Beatles lost tape.

Snoop and Dre working on new album.

It made him a billionaire so I get it. I would have loved to just hear stuff though. Then again some argue Eminem's brand degraded a bit by releasing so-so stuff. So IDK.
