Dude you really need to get a set of monitors too. Even if their entry level budget monitors. Music is an expensive sport unfortunately.

What do you use for mastering your tracks?

Yo Dream, how heavy of an emphasis is there on using PT in these video tuts by Mitch Gallagher? ie. Is this stuff you can follow along with perfectly fine if your using LP8, or something else?

I used to think PreSonus was actually kinda cheap looking stuff until I heard a TLM149 & a regular go-to workhorse like a sm-57 through a Eureka channel strip...I was sold immediately after that. Their coupled transformer design provides a really dope sound.....later on, my pops actually copped...

Yeah I think your signal chain plays a much more integral role in what your recordings sound like then the DAW's sound engine. I think its just become a good buzz word to sell products with, more then anything else... cuz the Mic you use, the interface you have, the converters it has, etc. are...

Yeah, it was one of the first DAWs I experimented with alongside Acid, Samplitude, and Live...I remember liking some of the native effects it came with but I was never super impressed with it.

Back when I was still makin music on a PC I always reached for my trusty free/open source Audacity for just chopping big chunks and preparing them for ReCycle...I also used to use Steinberg Wavelab for the same purpose, more often then not though Audacity fulfilled all my needs.
