Congrats @Declik

Started working on something but scrapped it...

Changed my vote a few times. I think alot of the beats ended up sounding like actual country songs opposed to hip hop beats and a few others had too little a reference to country. However I thought there was 3 maybe 4 that managed to incorporate country whilst keeping it hip hop.

@Earsblower was really well produced and probably the best executed beat but felt it leaned more towards country than hip hop.

@Iron Keys had the most groove and mix was great, felt like a difficult beat to get right and think you nailed it.

@DJ Excellence I always love your grooves and sound choices but feel like your beats are often too squashed / overcompressed and they can't breathe. Not sure if this is on purpose or you need to mix at a higher volume?

My vote went to @HeadchangeHQ thought the beat was dope, kept it hip hop whilst incorporating just the right amount of country.

Appreciate you, brother.

It came together surprisingly easier than I might have expected - I chopped up about 5 different country records, used different sections of each, chopped those up.
There were other bits I wanted to use but didn't end up working them in.

My vote also went to @HeadchangeHQ

this how I voted. altho I'm sure I switched my vote between my final 2 about 7 or 8 times after the video ended.

congrats to all, and special props to @Da Archangels @Iron Keys & @HeadchangeHQ

I think this often happens, particularly with country... but with the "other genre" themes.

Even myself I think I was slightly guilty in the past on one. Key is on focusing on key identifiers and feelings of the style, but ensuring to lock in key identifiers of hip hop, particularly the groove.

And my feelings/observations were the same.

I also watched your video the same way - watched how you listened to mine.

And pleased to see mine came back for reconsideration at the end.

But this is pretty much how I listen to the beats here. Unless one I really like I let it bang out a bit

tickled my beats balls like it tickled your ears

I tempted to do a live voting video/review like the one you did, had been thinking about it for ages. Think people will realise I'm lowkey harsh

But i think it might be insightful. Least fun

You guys are wasting your time voting like that.

I don't actually listen to the beats at all. I just roll a pair of dice and whatever number comes up, that's the beat number I vote for.

Loved the insight video @Armani . I believe this is how most folk would vote due to busy schedules. I'd also like to see your live vote @Iron Keys .

I don't vote unless I can listen to all of the beats in the timeframe and some weeks I can't due to the sheer number of entries. Once I've narrowed mines down I download them to my phone and listen to them in my car to get a bigger sound and a better idea of the mix. This is normally where I find my favourite too. More often than not I don't have a standalone favourite and end up picking one over another or even 2 others just because I only have 1 vote. I've touched on the idea of a 1-2-3 voting system in the past.

Interestingly @Armani , @Iron Keys and myself all voted for @HeadchangeHQ and yet he didn't get the win. It would be interesting to see the votes that every beat receives. I actually believe nobody would argue with this either. A winning beat could pip 3 other beats by 1 vote and yet another battle could see the winner get 99% of the votes. Same outcome regardless of votes.

Maybe need to get @Fade watching the F1.
