My names mischief and i'm a producer from the US. I've been producing seriously for 8 months or so in FL Studio but have been making music for much longer. I'm here to get feedback and give feedback since not many of my friends make music.
I listen to a lot of music from old to new, pop to rap. I mainly focus on creating hip-hop beats, but do dabble in other stuff. My best genres/subgenres to make are RnB, Trap, Sexy Drill, and Boom Bap. I know how to play sax and I'm learning the guitar and the piano. If you want to ask a question, don't hesitate. I'll be posting beats soon.

QUESTION: I'm learning music theory currently, so I don't have many vsts. Are there any free ones y'all would recommend? Right now, I'm getting along with the Rhodes in FL Keys, but I don't want to overdo it with the same instrument.

I never heard of that, but then again, there's so many genres now.
There are. I'm about to post a beat in that subgenre if you want to get an idea of what it sounds like. On most "Cash Cobain" / "Sexy Drill" beats, the artist's voice is drowned in reverb, and has a mumbling cadence. A chill vibe mostly. If you want to hear a song with a voice on it I recommend "Fisherrr," by Cash Cobain and Bay Swag. It's probably the most popular song in that style.

I forgot to mention, instead of regular 808s, there's a specific bass sound used in the subgenre.

Did someone say Sexy Drill?

If you need any advice with FL Studio just let me know. I won't be able to help but I'm very empathetic.

Oh, and welcome!
