pull the side out into a new window in your wave editor, it will then be a mono recording of just that "pan" as you call it

then you can convert it to stereo in your wave editors convertor - if you dont have one

then open a blank stereo window and copy the mono track to first the left "pan" then second the right "pan"

i think that is what you mean

If I understand you correctly the answer is yes. You can take one side and split it into 2 signals but its not the 'conventional' way of making a true stereo signal. You will run into a flange type effect when you do it though. Good luck.
