Just wondering How many of y'all use a workstation as a sound module? If so Explain how its done properly?

You have an keyboard and then u have an soundmodule(same soundset without the keys). Which one do u want to know about? I use an Emu PK-6 keyboard and I just MIDI it up to my mpc and use the sounds I wanna use.
