Lynn,MA based emcee/producer Wizard at Will is back with a new beat tape entitled "Street Philosopher Beat Tape Session 1". Time for the review.

1. Wizard At Will (N/A)

A short intro, Wizard explains his health issues.

2. Yo (4.5 out of 5 Very Good)

Wiz spits a few verses and and he appears to be dope emcee (voice and flow reminds me of Krumb Snatcha). The piano-driven beat courtesy of Professa Kaos is very nice. The song is basically a conversation between Wiz and his doctor.

3. Intro - Street Philosopher (4 out of 5 Good)

A highly dramatic instrumental with a nice orchestral sample.

4. SP2 (4 out of 5 Good)

Nice strings and cinematic feel.

5. Change Will Come (3 out of 5 Fair)

Feeling the massive drums but the altered vocal sample's a bit odd.

6. Knowledge Of Self (4.5 out of 5 Very Good)

Dope guitars and keys.

7. 707 Part 2 (4.5 out of 5 Very Good)

Funky horn sample and hard claps.

8. Few (4 out of 5 Good)

Another nice vocal sample. Tight drums.

9. Last Time I Tell Ya (4.5 out of 5 Very Good)

This one has a vintage Mobb Deep feel with the agressive strings and powerful drums.

10. Get Off (4.5 out of 5 Very Good)

The Boom Bap drums are definitely on point. The melancholic sample is solid.

11. Don't Let It (4.5 out of 5 Very Good)

Smooth stuff. Feeling the horns and keys.

12. Respect (3 out of 5 Fair)

Wiz is a back on the mic (it's all about bragging rights this time and he sounds quite convincing). The synth beat is alright.

13. Adjustments (5 out of 5 Classic)

Me like this Pete Rockish beat! Everything is on point: the phat bassline, keys, guitars...

14. Habits (5 out of 5 Classic)

Another dope instrumental. Awesome electric piano.

15. Wonder (5 out of 5 Classic)

I can definitely feel the Pete Rock influences on this one as well. Superb saxophone sample and massive bassline.

16. At Times (4 out of 5 Good)

A calm, rather melancholic beat with nice strings and keys. Solid.

Conclusion: Another dope beat tape from Wiz, emcees you really need to check this.

Final Score: 4.5
