Just curious, whats r guys favorite software company and why?

For me propelerheadz is the best man.... i love all of their programs... without reason, recycle, and reload id be lost in the world of computer production... the thing i like most about them besides the function of the product is the fact that their programs are also very reliable and do not cause me problems...that is more than i can say about steinberg and emagic.... reason has never quit on me once....sometimes it will go when using rewire, but i have a strong feeling it is because of the host sequncer and not reason.. ik multimedia comes in second and native instrument a close third, but propellerheadz all the way, hands down for me!

i second Holmzini!
Propellerheads, no dout whatsoever.
they have been the best ever since the early days of Rebirth. Reason is a state of the art product, and so are Recycle & Reload.

Ok, now BiGD speaks on software,
I have Protools 5.3.1 and use it for all of my booth recording and artist demos...I find it easy to use especially since you can bounce adding different effects without having to alter the original recording and then come back and make corrections, you must get a good plugin pack to really make this shine I use Waves Gold Bundle....
I use Cubase...I use it to make some tracks....I usually run Rewire so I can take advantage of Reason and route channels separately to FX to make my drums sound better or realistic.....but I also like it because I can use my external gear too, I think Cubase is one of the most powerful applications, I have been using it since vst 3.X was out if you really are using lots of external hardware in conjuction with Vst's or reason.
I have used Cakewalk since homestudio , then from there I used Sonar for a lot of my stuff...

I have used Fruityloops a lot more since I bought the Producer edition, it is Very Powerful and underrated.....

MY favorites are Protools for Recording and mixing....Cubase & Fruityloops (producer edition) for making tracks..........
the only Reason I like Reason is that they have some very good samples, they blew it for me though because it's not a fully standalone application supporting VST plugins.......I consider myself pretty close to expert using all of these software applications, even though you will hear me really Trash software because I don't care how good it is, nothing beats a real hardware setup and analog processing (compressors, Equ's and Tape) but I think they can all work together to produce some hott shidd....

i use cubase as well ...and as i program i think it pretty dope..i like its midi capabilities...but as ive strayed away from using midi lately i have come to realize that cubase leaves some to be desired in terms of functinallity... cubase sx 1.6 has so many bugs its ridicicouls... reliabilty is a big issue for me..... theres nothing worse than when u r heavy into a session and my comp starts acting up ... it sucks... i plan to upgrade to 2.0 or maybe even try out the new nuendo...hopefully they dealy wit alot of the bug problems that 1.6 has cause that is killer.... man.....reason would be beyond dope if they had the vst support...i hear u on dat big d

OK, i third Holmzini...
Next to Propellerhead softwares which are all very well engineered and thought out (minus no VsT support...which isnt a big deal to me cuz i love tha new reverb and other effects in reason) - I would have to say that i really enjoy using Magix softwares, and also Native which has served many dope purposes with their various applications offered.
For last minute editing and mixing ive always like to use either magix samplitude, or cooleditpro (now adobe audition).

Oh and one last staple even though its nothing to brag about, but worth mentioning since i use it almost everytime to chop my samples is - a wonderful free prgm called Audacity.

I like companies that seem to be run by a bunch of nerds (no offence) who take time out to make some good ish and have enough time to pay attention to the people that actually use the ish. thats why i love the guys that make fruityloops n reason, and yeah rockstar games kick ass - violence makes a game interesting all the time.

PSP, they've done pretty accurate emulations of the PCM42, expanded with the 84 model. The Vintage warmer is so far the best single-/multi band compresser/limiter and tape saturation emulation I've worked with. Check their other products at www.pspaudioware.com

IK Multimedia, they made T-racks, valved mastering tool, I just discovered that they've finaly made a plug-in version, I haven't use it that much since it's standalone. Amplitube, a rediculous modeler for Amps, Stomp boxes, post fx and seperatly Pre, EQ, Amp, Cabinet and Mic modeling and a fx unit also with EQ. www.ikmultimedia.com

DSPFX, Probably the best kit I've ran across and I've been using it for like 4 years now and I have tried/compared all bundles so far available to it. The kit includes StudioVerb, AcousticVerb, Optimizer, Aural Activator, Parametric EQ, Flanger, Chorus, Multi-Tap Delay, Pitch Shifter, Auto-Panner, Tremolo, and Widener. Lemme be serious in saying that this is an underrated kit, I've personaly haven't used all the fx in the kit, but the StudioVerb, Aural Activator, Optimizer and EQ have been very usefull in mastering. The reverb has got to be THE best vst reverb I've heard so far. They also have some kind of anniversary, so the kit price @ the moment is $149 which really rediculous when comparing it with Wave Bundles, TC|Works Spark and other highly priced kits. I should actualy buy this one hehehe http://www.dspfx.com/

And ya damn right Im using all these plugs through FL.

I like my FL studio/ sampletank combination just fine. Cool Edit is my shit too. I got a new turtable (numark) but I don't have the right sound card (My computer does AUX/line and I need a PHONO jack)]

I like using ACID for recording.

manji just get a little mixer with a phono input and plug the mixer right into right into the line in on your pc,even if u get a mixer without phono inputs u can buy phono to 1/8 or 1/4 stere jack converters
