Welcome to IllMuzik. Yes, you need 50 posts and to also post some beats in the Showcase (a new one opens up soon). What's the music scene like over in Japan?

yo thanks for the comments on the beats! i appreciate it! as far as the music scene in Japan, hip hop is pretty big over here, but in Japan a lot of artists who claim to be "hip hop" are just straight pop artists. The beats sound no where near what traditional hip hop sounds like. so when i have meetings with these big "hip hop" artists in Japan, they tell me my tracks are too aggressive and whatnot. a lot of japanese music in general is modeled after the american scene too, so there are a lot of people trying to copy the american hip hop image out here.

The label I work is an indie label so they are looking for more of an american style type of music, but sometimes I sell my tracks to people on major labels but it's still kinda underground. however, recently probably one of the biggest pop singers in Japan, she just came out with her new single on some reggae dancehall ish and it was pretty good. so im gonna try to get into that.

as for my equipment, im using the computer program Reason and an oxygen 8 usb keyboard. thats about it. i've been producing for about 5 years now so i got mad sounds.

thanks again for the feedback, and i will try to convert some of my cds into mp3 so you can hear some japanese hip hop if you want.

respect,
