I know it's been asked a number of times but i searched and couldn't find an answer that i can use, basicall i've got a track in reason with a set BPM and i have a acapella whihc if im right is about 3-4 bpm faster now i would just put the accapella into reason but i cant speed up the track or it will throw out the timing of my other samples used in the song ?
how can i got about getting the vocal over the top i only have reason and cool edit and a bpm counter !
thanks mark

Dont know bout that. Try acid pro it makes it alot easier to do. You just use the beatmatcher and set them at the same tempo. Then cut the accapella in blank spots if it is off and match it up. That program is widely used for just that. Its what i use. Although you may be able to do it in cool edit. not sure?

yah, in cool edit you can prolly open the acapella uin a new project, try time stretching down a few bpm, and then export and load into your existing project...then di what exampul says and chop the vocals during the dead air.....you'd basically be doing what a beat-slicing program does...i do it all the time when im recording mcs with sloppy overdubs, and the timings are all off. It almost sounds like they are rapping at a different tempo! hah, nah, theyre actually pretty dope. really. i swear

This is obvious; so, i'm gonna assume you didn't get the accapella from a record because otherwise I would just adjust the tempo on the record....LOL
Can't tell you how to do it any other way because that is what I would do but I can suggest trying to get a lite version of Acid or use Cakewalk Plasma, it will do about the same thing or at least what you need for the accapella and only costs about $50...
