What would you say is tha typical progression that you usually examine in most rap beats?
(This being like; how many bars till tha hook and so forth...)
Ive noticed that most beats seem to do this: First 8 bars are moderate while working up to tha hook with maybe more layers - yet still leaving enough room for vocals...then when you hit tha end of tha eigth bar - this would be tha hook, with 4 more bars to complete tha so called recycled part of tha song as whole chunk...after this is completed it seems to keep looping that chunk of production over and over.
Tha other is quite similar: First 8 bars are tha same, but then instead of 4 more bars to wrap it up, there are 8 more bars for more relaxed beats usually....
What do you think? Have you noticed a similar progression as well or are there other staple rap progressions that you have examined?
(Minus tha ones where its completely obvious that tha producer just randomly selected loops and parts to make tha beat have a consistant flow and then ends when ever it wants)
