I have been making beats for around 6 years, everything that I ve sampled was from the internet, or cds. I love the ''analog touch'' and the idea of searching old records around the city. Now its time to get a turntable. What turntable do you recommend for sampling stuff. I ve read that some people have the Numark PT01, it is portable, so you can hear the music at the store. What else do you recommend? I want somthing affordable, I mean i dont wanna buy something expensive like a Technnics 1200 or a Vestax PDX.

if your just diggin and you dont plan on ever scratchin then an old cheap table at a pawn shop/yard sale is fine. I got the PT01 and if you wanna spend that cash on it, its def worth it. I got one when it came out and its still feels new.

you can get any cheap turntable, but I'd recommend getting a fairly good needle. It doesn't need to be really expensive scratch needle, but not the cheap radio shack needles.

if its just for samplin then d-twizzles right any old belt drive turntable will do but if you wana be scratchn the minimum you need is a direct dirve turntable and again a decent needle.

For sampling, like everyone said, get good needles. And yes, you can sample from a belt drive, that's what the PT-01 is. Personally, I'd take Numark over Vestax, but that's just because I have a think for Numark, and even though they made a bad name for themselves some years back, they do make insane products. I have the Numark TTX direct drive decks, they're ill. Anyway, for needles, I'd recommend some Ortofons (almost all are good) or the Shure Whitelabels, although those Whitelabels are a bit expensive. Then again, you get what you pay for.
