TO ANYBODY THAT USES TABLES, I LOOKED THRU OLD FORUMS FOR A SIMIALAR QUESTION, BUT COULDN'T FIND THE ANSWER

WHAT ARE SOMETHINGS YOU CAN DO TO RECORDS THAT HAVE SCRATHES? IS THEIR SOMETHING THAT REPAIRS THEM OR A TECNIQUE THAT HELPS WITH THAT PROBLEM.

I HATE WHEN YOU GOT A NICE PIECE AND IT SKIPS ON A CRUIAL POINT.
I GOT THIS BRUSH AND THIS LIQUID GUITAR CENTER SOLD ME
IT HELPS A LITTLE AS FAR AS CLEANING.

I GOT A NEW NEEDLE ALREADY TO.

Years ago I used to use windex or just water and soap! LOL. But now there's actual products out there for cleaning vinyl. Check out Turntablelab.com and go to their section called "dj accessories/cases/bags", scroll down about 3/4 of the way and you'll see a few products for record cleaning.

I think that soundboy2 is wanting a "Wipe Out" kit similar to the ones used for CD's, that can get rid of scratches permanently. Cleaning the record won't fill in the scratches. I have heard rumours that there is such a wipe-out kit for vinyl records, but have never seen such a kit first hand.

Maybe inquiring at the RecordCollectorsGuild http://www.recordcollectorsguild.org Will help. They have forums and individuals that specialise in vinyl restoration.

I spray a light coat of alcohol on it and run my discwasher around it. I've been doing that for years now and it will reduce the crackle and pops, and it will "miss" some of the scratches { depending on how deep they are } too.

ALCOHOL CLEANS THE READS BUT DRYS THE HELL OUT OF THEM. MAKIN THEM CRACK CREATING SKIPS. IF U USE THAT U NEED SOMETIN TO LUBE THEM UP. MAKIN THE RECORDS HELLA SLIPPERY. SO... I GOT A METHOD BUT IT COST $60 JUST FOR THE SUPPLYS U NEED. SO JUST USE THE SOLUTION AVALIBLE AT PRO SOUND & LIGHTING.COM OR PSSL.COM THEY GOT SO GOOD ONES THAT WORK...NOT AS GOOD AS MINES BUT WORKS FOR $20-$40

TKNK, if your version is better why don't you mention it, people may be willing to pay the extra cash if the solution is better.

Btw, please stay off CAPS LOCK.

Actually, I've found that using alcohol works well in 2 ways...

1. For the scratches...
2. By it drying the record up, it causes better friction between the surface and your fingers (thats if you do any scratching). That oil is good for treating the record but when its time to get busy on the wheels, it makes scratching a little harder.
