To Keep The Chops Or Not?

I guess this question is more for those who are working on a DAW or computer but it can certainty apply to everyone. What do you guys do after your beat is relatively finished, do you export the beat and delete the files or do you keep them in case you want to work on them later?

im struggling to decide whether to stay mad or not since my USB FD just crashed. luckily i have the WAV form of my beats lol.

Good question. I keep the DAW files because I might want to go back later and remix it, or maybe I want to see how I did a certain thing because I forgot, etc.

ive made up my mind to track out the files in mp3 format but track them out in the same mp3 file. lol.

Yea you have to keep everything, in the highest quality possible. Ie not mp3's

I license enough stuff to video and they always ask for changes, like 8 bars instead of 12 for example. Bottom line if you want to do something with the song, you need to keep the original song files. I even built a data base to store files and track where I submit things.

Even with working alongside an artist, you always keep everything....

This way if you need to make changes to it (drops, FX, etc) with relative ease.
