Illmuzik is a top quality production site, I read thru the forums and if you use the search function properly, it's better than any manual because most of these guys on here post from experience and in layman's terms.
A little bit about myself, I started out MC'ing ("professionally") while I was overseas in Japan, and made some connections and did a gang of shows and had a few deals on the table from some labels. I decided to go indie because you tend to learn more (and earn more) when you do it yourself.
I got into production because this producer tried to charge me $600 for a beat and instead of paying him, I asked him to teach me so I can make beats for myself and 2 years later here I am!
I'm currently trying to get my studio setup together (understanding wise) so that I can
get the most outta my equipment. I got some pretty tight connections in the industry that can secure myself some steady work, but I won't hit them up until I'm hot enuff to generate my own buzz. Peeeace!
