Technics SL 1200 MK2 or MK5?

If someone offered you your choice of a brand new free mk2 or mk5 (you can only pick one), which one would you pick for sampling? If you dj, what would you pick for djin? Why? Since I found a mk5 for $50 more i might as well make an investment on it.

as far as that goes...as long as they are technics, you are good. if the mk5's are only $50 more, go for it. as far as sampling they are pretty much both the same-- it gets different when it's time to choose cartridges. for example, i use m44-g's to sample...whereas dj shadow uses like...$1000 audiophile cartriges.


anyway, for djing as well, they are pretty much the same. i think the only difference is the cosmetics and the pitch control right?

either way, techs are techs and they are (and have been the industry standard for years.
