okay first if you dont have a turntable then you cant use vinyl but sometimes i download hard to find mp3s with a nice sound quality from I tunes and burn them on a cd and dump them in cool edit pro and chop them up. If i were you i would buy a similar program to chop you samples. of course you will need to be able to count bars, and basically you want to find a nice 2 or 4 bar part of the song and export it as a WAV into fruity loops. and you just go into the piano roll and lay it down. i like to lay down the hats everytime the beat hits and just mess with the BPM at the top of the software until it just loops continuously and the hats match everytime the sample hits. Also so you will need to right click on the sample and cut it self, DEF NECESSARY! I hope this helps, sorry if it is a little confusing but i am high as shit...............
