time stretching is difficult and almost always has anamolies you dont want with more than little bit of adjustment. I suggest you find one that does grain shifting, this divides the whole wave into little pieces which you can usually specify and i have found these can be used be used for perhaps a bit mroe adjustment. I have one in buzz i dunno where you can find one that does this, but the key is READ the docs for the plugin/app whatever see how it works.

what progam do y'all people use to speed up vocals....I got pro tools but when i attempt to use the time compression-expansion tool its just doesnt sound right...it sounds very sketchy for lack of a better term....just not a smooth outcome.....maybe you guys have had this problem...

ACID baby!! I still use this only for that. You can change the tempo without affecting the pitch or change the pitch without affecting the tempo or both!!!!

Still A.C.I.D.!!!

I use cool edit and it works just fine for me... I don't think it's the software, it's the user of it.. You have to figure it out.. Every time I time strech I need to make some tweaking of the sample. So figure it out. theres no program that I know of with a time strech button, that's just gona make things sound perfect.. Use your skills..

i personally use sound forge to speed up vocals and samples if u mess with the settings on the pitch shift plugin u can get pretty good results just aslong as u dont do a extreme amount of shifting.
