How come emu never made a succesor to the sp1200 the machine is so popular and i know it got reissued in 1998. I always though emu would of made a desktop drum machine to cater for that corner of the market.
Yo D-Man I was hoping they would have a sequel but they brought out those stupid little workstations the pk-7and mp-7. I wanted the SP-2400 to come out. I even called EMU at their headquarters. They said their looking into it. That was 3 years ago. I even said make a chip that can handle more sample time. They said it can't be done. Bullshit I told them. I going to do it myself and make the chip fuck them. But goto www.emulatorarchive.com those guys were real helpful toward my situation with my SP-1200. I'm going to buy another one with the worst cosmetic to it and take it apart and find away to get more sampling time. So Radio Shack here I come. One.
I have nothing against Akai but I just love the gritty sound of the 12 bit format. In the beginning there were 8 bit drum machines but now here today we have 24 bit drum machines. Clean sound yes but give me some grits. Emu needs to bring the SP1200 back and give it more sampling time 10 seconds was not enough for me and many will agree.
