Ive used both to record vocals into as well as do wave editing - and i have to say that CEP is more to my liking.......It just has better ergonomics and is more intuitive in my opinion.

Plus, Adobe jus bought CEP and gave it some new name that i cant quite remember right now, but anyway Adobe is freakin huge and wouldnt invest in buying syntriliums CEP if it werent a dope prgm.

Well Sonars not a bad prgm though - i jus think its more cryptic than cooledit and thats why i prefer it between tha two.
Sonar is capable of doing alot of complex things - but so is CoolEdit....Im just too lazy right now to look in tha manual and better understand all of tha functions it can carry out...cuz like with cool edit tha ergo is so much better that i can jus figure it out on my own without any manual.
Basically, if your anything like I am - go ahead and read tha manual if your still serious about utilizing Sonar cuz Im sure if you really do a some investigating, its a pretty dope prgm.
Shit!, I still go back to my reason manual all tha time!...Its like my Bible an shit......Like jus tha other day i wanted to learn how to create my own graintable patches on tha malstrom - so i printed all tha malstrom pages out and read them on my lunch breaks at work...That kinda stuff can really help - Its just a matter of how much you really care to know about it.
If you dont really care much anymore, than jus go with Audition...Or, you could use both and bounce back and forth???

Hey,

Sonar: MIDI and audio sequencer, multitrack recorder and editor
CEP/Audition: wave editor, multitrack recorder and editor

They two different programs that share a few important features. If you use MIDI, use Sonar. If you want detailed waveform editing, use CEP. If you want both, use both.

Adobe bought Syntrillium so that they stay in the video market with Apple, Sony, Pinnacle and Avid by bundling good audio technology with their Premiere video editing software...Apple bought Emagic, Pinnacle bought Steinberg, Sony bought Sonic Foundry, etc...
