Tried for ages to fix it but its like the mammoth, extinct.
I think the £300 mobo is toast

yeah the lights on the mobo come on, but are flickering really fast, thats what makes me think its the mobo

New mobo doesnt need to be expensive, whats your config ?
I had a look at the capacitors but they all look fine, there is no sign of anything having burned out.
The mobo is an Asus Striker 2 Extreme, I didnt realise it was so old now, I bought it four years ago, and i thought it was 2, damn time flies.
Formant, to replace this mobo for the minimum cost will cost me around £50-£75(to maintain a fair level of performance), which yeah isnt much, by I have no money at all. So im gonna have to wait it out till I get a job, or someone gets me one for my birthday next month.
I need a socket 775, ddr3 mobo. There dont seem to be many of them around these days. Maybe a complete upgrade is in order.
