i just got cool edit pro 2.0 and i'm wondering if anyone knows of a REALLY GOOD comprehensive tutorial about this program.... but for now, if anyone could answer this question for me.. that'd be tight...

does anyone know how to seperate the left channel from the right channel in the waveform editor? if this question doesn't make sense.. tell me so i can reword it.. thanks

Hey,

Yes, I know how:

1. Open the waveform into the EV (edit view).
2. Go to Edit>Convert Sample Type.
3. In the Channels box, select Mono.
4. Set the Left Mix to 100%, Right Mix to 0%.
5. Leave the sample rate and bit depth alone.
6. Click on OK. The file will go through the conversion process, leaving you with only the left channel.
7. Go to File>Save AS... and save it as filename left.wav.
8. Hit Ctrl-Z to undo the file conversion.
9. Repeat steps 2-7, only this time set the Left Mix to 0%, Right Mix to 100%, and save that file as filename right.wav.
