Scsi cd drive for mpc problem.

Ok, I got a Mitshubishi chemical, external cd-rw, and when i hook it up do my mpc the mpc goes like:"Scsi read error". Anyone here who knows if this is a problem i can fix or maybe the cd-rw doesnt work with my mpc. Its a mpc2000 non xl. Help appreciated.

not all cd drives have been found compatible with the mpc theres a list on one of the mpc sites heres a few that are said to be compatible by mpc-tutor.com.

Apple 300CD

Plextor 40STe

Sony 3003 plus


also i see you gotta cd burner which is not compatible with the mpc since theres no burning software in the mpc so its prolly just the "drivers" or whatever in the mpc wont recognize a cd burner..

so if you have a cd-drive connected to your mpc its only meant for reading cd's, not storring data on the cds?

yup..you will wanna store on zip or get a hard drive
