Sampling Question....

Whats up yo im new here and i see alot of headz on here r really good with production, what i need to know is i habe a sample that i have on my beat, but the sample keeps playin throughout my beat, what can i do to make the sample play in certain places of my beat that i want it to, and make it cut off when when i want it to, and i am usin Fruity Loops, any help would be madd appreciated...............1

Well i dont use Fruity, so i wont be much of a help, but i would check out fruitys piano roll....thats how i do what yer talkin about in Reason.

yo, your goign to have to cut the sample to fit each pattern on fruityloops, also you can trim it a little on some selections once you click the sound, i foreget where it is i havn't used fruityloops in awhile. That was one reason why i got some hard eguipment, i'm pretty heavy into sampling and didn't have the patience to mess with flps like 9th. But back to what you were askin. Get a program like Acid pro 5.0 or 3.0 will work too, and cut what ever sample exactly how you want it, then go into flps and put the sample whereever and then do the beat around the sample and shit, if you need too you can put the tempo really high, and just seperate the drums alot more, so it doesn't sound like a Techno beat. I know it's not very descriptive but just holler if you have any more questions.
