Roland Edirol FA-101 Problem

Our external Edirol recently stopped working but I dont know why.
It just says Error(code 10) Device wont start.
Does anyone have any ideas as to whats wrong?
Our backup up interface is a bit shit and would love to get this working like it was before.
Working at 41,000 - 48,000 just doesnt cut it for me. I like to work at at least 96,000 and 192,000 if the pc can handle it. PLEASE HELP ME!!

Check de fw ohci host controller, switch it to legacy then reboot.

My shitty old pc Im using at home now doesnt have firewire so I cant even test it at home.
Because it was working fine before, Im convinced its some sort of software/driver/firewire problem. Thanks for the tips, hopefully what you have suggested should work.

Well, fw is known to be very sensitive to ESD but the code states it cant start the device. You may assume from that that it is recognized by the system so the FW bit works but its seems there is no handshake.

When I first installed the edirol a few weeks ago, I had the same problem.
The solution was to install extra drivers, and then it worked.
Then it just suddenly stopped working again, reinstalling the drivers didnt fix it. Im really sure its something stupid and that the Edirol is still fine.
But sometimes its the most stupid problems can be the most awkward to solve.

I tried getting this thing to work again but failed, couldnt find legacy settings for the firewire. I really think the card has just packed up.
The last resort is testing it on my friends laptop. If that fails then bin time, if it works then a few days trying to find out what the fuck is going on.
