anyone know a SIMPLE and COST EFFICIENT way to reduce bit rates? especially for drums and other samples? i'm looking for that raw sound that comes from them OLD mpc's...u know....like the mpc 60II, etc. will any software do this for me or at least emulate the sound closely? AND...any FREE software do this? or...would anything i already have in my production/recording arsenal do this? here's my rundown of resources in my lab:

MPC 2000xl
pro tools
FL Studio 7
Reason 3
some sound modules and controllers (which i suspect wouldn't matter)

go to edison (fl) load your sample then right click and click on format and go to edit properties and change the sample rate or bit rate to a lower standard in order to get that grimey sound>
