I HAVIN SUM TROUBLE RECORDING I USE CEP AND SONAR TO RECORD VOCALS AND IM USING A SHURE MIC PLUGGED INTO A PRESONUS TUBPRE MIC PRE AMP PLUGGED INTO MY MIC IN ON MY PC,THE PROBLEM IS WHILE RECORDING THE CHANNELS ON THE INPUT ARE NOT THE SAME ,THE LEFT CHANNEL IS AT -51 AND THE RIGHT ONE IS AT -36, THIS IS GIVVING ME SOME NOISE WHEN ITS SUPOSE TO BE SILENT ,ANY SUGGESTIONS

Hmm. What about your PC's mixer settings? Is the balance correct? Is the Pan ok in CEP? Does this happen in CEP or Sonar, or both?

happens in both bro,i dont think i have any settings on my pc where panning is involved either,its just volume up or down on the pc

I would guess your problem is that your input on your soundcard is stereo and the output from your mic pre is mono. If the mic and preamp are mono, but the input to your soundcard is stereo, you would have a problem like yours. I would suggest using a mixer with stereo outputs to go to your sound card, and have your mic pre go to a mono input on the mixer. You can get a cheapo mixer online for not that much- but I don't mean a DJ mixer, I mean a professional input mixer, like a Behringer Eurorack.

wu, how are you playin your mic through sonar. I have pretty much the same hookup but my mic is in a mixer, not a pre amp? sorry i dont have an answer to your question but ive been tryin to get my question anwered for a while and this seems like a good thread.
