I have Ableton Live 6 - and I just wanted to know if anybody know how to record one line at a time because I am hearing that, it is the best way to record. I tried to record one at a time but it does not come out right. Do I suppose to record each line into the clip slots?

I'm gonna skip the snide comments and actually answer your question - in the "session view" (the one with vertical columns of clips) click on the second box beneath "Audio From" for the track you want (it should say 1/2 right now), then select either 1 or 2 (you'll either get no input at all or both meter bars will register input, just do trial and error)
