Yo--

I was just wondering where you guys are gettin stuff to color your samples with. Like after you sample from vinyl and add drums and a bassline in, where are you buying the hits and riffs and stabs and what not to complete the composition?

Thanks,

Peace

Rent (or buy if you can) a keyboard. usually loded with tons of sounds and beleive me you dont have to know how to play the piano. a good ear is all it takes. and some creative thoughts.

Sample CD's can be good too. There's a lot of crappy ones...but if you stick to those at $ 150 and above, as a general rule, give them a quick listen...you can find many good CD's with single sounds, drums, hits, keys, bass, guitar etc...and today they are even copying most of the soundbanks for the keyboards so you can get them too...

thanks everyone. One more quick question. I am using a yamaha synth/ midi controller, can i use its sounds in the MPC, cause i dont think i can, but if i could that would make everything so much easier. Or will it only play the sounds from the MPC?

u have to move the part where u pick which drum set u want... to midi.. then pick a channel 1-16 mostly.. sometimes different with synths.. check where your midi cables are connected (should be midi out of A in the mpc to midi in of the keyboard... thats enough to play the sound.. pick a channel and the sound will be there on your mpc.. to get sync midi out keyz to midi in A mpc... good luck...

remeber on the bottom your mpc u should see ( S: MIDI : 1A DEVICE )YOUR SET
