Problem with hats

hey there! so lately I have problem with hats. they sound good in my daw but later on they sound distorted, and like they're clipping but that's impossible because they're always in 'green' even lower. It's becoming quite a nuisance and I haven't yet figured out how to deal with this and I tried everything; EQing in different ways, lower volume etc. so here's a snippet of something I started working and you can hear clearly my problem. any feedback is much appreciated, thanx fam!

It might not be the effects your using or how you export your tracks, it might be the sample itself. depends on where you got it from.

Well if that's the case I'll just try to find more suitable sounds in the future. While you mentioned samples I found this awesome site with a ton of free samples

ahh yes, definitely a great site to pull samples from. I do have other sites, but id like to keep it on the low low, if you know what I mean
