Ya, this is the loudness war that's been raging for a long time. If you listen to an old album like for example, Reasonable Doubt vs. any of Jay Z's current stuff, wow big difference. I noticed it a lot on an old Compton's Most Wanted album from 1991 vs an album they dropped I think around 2008 - I put the old one on then the new one and I had to quickly turn down the volume on my headphones! It was REALLY noticeably louder.

This is murder on dj's...not only do they have to worry about timing, bpm's, clean cuts and whatever, now volume is an issue when cross fading .
